LICENSING CHECKLIST
TO GET LICENSED, FOLLOW THESE STEP-BY-STEP IN ORDER!
FIRST: If you live in one of the following states, CLICK HERE!

Alabama, Colorado, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Tennessee
If you do NOT live in one of these ten states, get started with the checklist below
☐ Review licensing requirements by state: HERE
☐ Schedule exam date through your resident State's Department of Insurance Proctoring Service
- Look out for the "Welcome to Family First Life!" email. It will have instructions on how to schedule your exam
☐ Send the onboarding manager a screenshot of your scheduled exam confirmation email, including the exam date
☐ Sign up for the XCEL pre-licensing course.
- Look out for the "Your Course Registration Instructions are Inside!" email. It will have instructions on how to sign up for the XCEL pre-licensing course
- Make sure to use the promo code to get free access to the course
☐ Study for exam
- Complete all chapter quizzes. Pass your simulator exam before sitting for the main test
☐ Check to see if your state requires fingerprints before taking your exam: HERE
☐ Take - and Pass Your Exam!
- Email the onboarding manager that you passed your exam
☐ Submit exam receipt & fingerprints to the state (if your state requires it): HERE
-Call your resident State’s Department of Insurance if unclear
☐ Get National Producer Number & State License
- Call your resident State’s Department of Insurance daily & ask them to check on your progress to speed up the process.
- Let the onboarding manager know when you receive your license

- Get started on the “New Agent Checklist”
